Elgg 1.8.4 is now available for download. This release contains important security enhancements, so you are adviced to upgrade as soon as possible to keep your network safe. We have now added an option to enable three columns layout in all of our themes in the 1.8 branch of Elgg. Under theme settings, you can choose between two columns or three columns, giving you an extra sidebar where you can add content such as Google AdSense. To make it easier for you to benefit from the three column layout we’ve even added a boot file whose content is passed to the new secondary sidebar.
